When I find an outfit item that works without fail, I don’t hesitate buying it in multiples! That’s what I’ve done with this ruched body-con tank dress from Nordstrom. I own it in three colors, and I just ordered my fourth one in black because it’s currently on sale for under $40. This three-season dress has over 3,000 near-perfect reviews from shoppers, many of whom have also bought it in several colors. I keep buying this dress because it can be styled multiple ways for maximum use throughout most of the year.
Besides that, it’s comfortable, versatile, and cute. And, it’s easy to dress up with a jacket and heels, or down with flats, sandals, or sneakers for a more casual look. Oh, and it comes in about 15 colors, too.
How it fits
The sleeveless, jersey-knit dress features a rounded neckline, tulip hemline, and gathered ruching on one side that disguises and shapes your middle. It fits TTS (I’m wearing a medium), and it comes back year after year in a variety of colors. Because I’m almost 5’10” with a long torso and long legs, it hits me about 4″ above the knee. If you’re shorter, it will hit you at or near the knee.
Casual and vacation style
When traveling, I always bring at least one of these dresses. I wore my brown one all day when strolling the streets of San Juan, Puerto Rico on a trip last year.
I want to mention the one-of-a-kind, vegan-leather bag I’m carrying. These photos are from a collaboration with Fukinsei Bags. The designer, based in NYC, makes these unique, color-block bags by hand. Her bags are works of art with their sculptural shape, asymmetrical design, and high-quality faux leather. The straps come in several colors, as do the fun and colorful geometric bag charms.

I’m also showing my favorite cute and ultra-comfortable strappy leather sandals because they’re currently 40% off. They come in four colors, and they have a zip-up back for easy on and off. I wear them with everything, and I HIGHLY recommend them!
On our trip to Newport Beach last summer, I brought my white dress and styled it with a denim jacket and a scarf.
This three-season dress is such a great spring and fall transition piece. On cooler days, I throw on a jacket and booties, and all through the summer, I style it with accessories like these for a more casual look.

This is such a great dress! I’m extremely curvy. I would love to try it on and see how it fits! I absolutely love all of your shoe selections as well!
Thanks, Lisa! You never know until you try – Nordstrom has free shipping on returns if things don’t work out. Glad you like the shoes, too 🙂
Fabulous Dress! Love how you can style it so many ways.
Thanks, Patty! Glad you like it.
Gosh, I love it. I have one almost identical in teal blue. I definitely wish I had a long sleeve one too because you know I’m always cold, LOL!!
And that purse is amazing!!
I bet your teal dress is gorgeous! I added a cropped sweater over my new black one and it was so cute!
This really is the perfect LBD. I’m embarrassed to admit I have at least 7/8 little black dresses I haven’t worn or I would purchase it because it looks slightly better than what I’ve got. Just wowza flattering!
I have a few other LBDs hanging in my closet, too! 😉
What a versatile piece. It looks different in each color. And I like the way it can be dressed up with heeled sandals or dressed down for a day of sightseeing in tennies. That burgundy color is so rich! Beautiful.
Thanks, Leslie! It’s a good one! The burgundy is a favorite for sure.
Boy, you are tempting me Lisa! I really love the burgundy! Well, they all look fab on you and the white is perfect for summer. So, I am 5 ft 9, and usually wear a 4 in dresses, do you think the same? I like the length of yours and how the changing of your shoes really changes the look. Those sandals look fun and sporty, not to mention comfortable!
We’re the same size, Jess. I like the medium…I think the small would feel too tight. Glad you like the sandals, too. They’re great! I bought them before our cruise in December and they’re comfortable from the first wear.
I love that dress so much! It looks like the perfect dress for layering for all seasons xo
So glad you like it! It’s one of the most versatile dresses.
