As we travel the world, we often become intrigued by creations influenced by the culture and traditions of different corners of the earth…to remind us of the diverse beauty that exists beyond our borders.” ~Lesetta

As someone who’s been intrigued by different cultures since childhood, who embraces diversity, and who has traveled the world, I was thrilled when the brand Lesetta reached out to me to show a few of their exquisitely-crafted, artisan pieces hand selected from Europe and South America…and each one telling a unique story.

Maybe you’ve heard the term “slow fashion.” Sustainable fashion expert, Alden Wicker, describes it best: “Slow fashion is clothing and accessories that are thoughtfully made, high quality, and meant to be used for a long time. It’s classic and timeless and employs some level of artisanship.”

That perfectly describes two of the accessories I’m showing here from Lesetta’s beautifully-curated collection.

From Argentina, this butter-soft, lightweight, leather bucket bag is handmade using the highest quality local materials and craftsmanship. It features a lined interior, an inside zip pocket, horn and brass crafted hardware, an adjustable strap, and it comes in taupe or black.

This company in Buenos Aires employs both master craftsmen and indigenous communities who use their expertise and ancestral knowledge to create these fashion-forward, but timeless, one-of-a-kind pieces.

From Portugal, this pendant necklace is from Lesetta’s Calcada collection. I love the story that influenced its unique design.

If you’ve been to Portugal, you’re probably familiar with the mosaic pavements decorated in geometric or figurative patterns using irregularly-shaped stones. This traditional Portuguese technique is called Calcada Portuguesa and is the inspiration for this line of jewelry.

This drop-pendant necklace is just one of the pieces from the Calcada collection and is made from sterling silver, with rhodium or gold plating, and has a soft, brushed finish. As you can see, it’s versatile enough to dress up or down.

I encourage you to start investing in slow-fashion clothing and accessories, like these small-production pieces which are made to tell a story and last a lifetime, created by highly-skilled artisans and designers.
