Ladies, I realize fall fashion is starting to make its way into stores, but we still have two months of summer left! I’m not ready to look at jackets, sweaters, and boots just yet! Is anybody else with me?
I recently bought a new swimsuit and this shirtdress-style coverup from Everything But Water, and today I’m showing how I wore the coverup both pool side and street side. I love finding versatile and timeless pieces like this!
A Quick Word About the Swimsuit
I wear one-piece suits because I have tummy stretch marks from carrying two big babies, so I was thrilled when I found this beautiful suit from Bleu Rod Beattie (America’s #1 Swimsuit Designer) with a sexy, plunging, ladder-detail in front and back.
I must say, I’ve never shown this much skin, but I think this suit is very tasteful, and it stays in place! Granted, I’m not swimming laps or splashing around…mostly floating and sipping!
The best part is that most Bleu Rod Beattie one-piece swimsuits have adjustable shoulder straps to fit different length torsos! The fit is true to size (TTS) and I’m wearing a size 6.
The Coverup
My button-down, shirt dress coverup has rolled sleeves, side slits, is 100% cotton and ultra light weight. It fits TTS, and I’m wearing a small.
It’s the perfect length to cover up our backsides when taking a stroll at the beach, at resorts, or on cruises. This ensemble is definitely going with me to California next month!
I also picked up this $38 leopard-print sarong to wear over my black swimsuit. Everything But Water has an excellent selection of coverups and swimsuits if you’re looking. At the bottom of this post, I’ve linked some of my faves that would also look great pool side or street side, as well as some one-piece suits.
Street-Style Outfit
I wear a lot of white in summer, and adding my coverup over jeans and a simple tank elevates the whole look. I also mixed in a few other neutrals to complete the outfit.
I think this coverup would look great paired with light or dark denim, a v-neck cami, and sneakers for another cute street look.

That’s so smart to wear a cardigan as a cover up, Lisa!! I hadn’t even thought of that.

You’re too kind, Suzana! I bought it in a swimwear store, and it fits my everyday style, so I figured…why not?

Hi Lisa!
I mentioned I loved your suit and the lace up style and insta, and they have it in a gorgeous emerald! You look great! How smart to buy the jacket as a cover up and it looks wonderful with white. I just love white and grey together.
You’d look AMAZING in an emerald suit with your coloring! It’s actually a swimsuit coverup that I converted to a jacket. It was just too cute not to!
