Hi friends…hope your week is off to a great start! Yesterday was my daughter’s baby “sprinkle,” Relax! It’s not what you might be thinking! It’s a light baby shower for a second baby. Have you heard the term before? I think it’s too cute. She’s having a baby girl beginning of October, and she got so many adorable gifts! 💗
Today I’m sharing two summer dresses I wore on our recent trip to Newport Beach, CA (and elsewhere), and they’re both on clearance.
Dress #1
I wore this popover shift dress from White House Black Market to dinner one evening in Cali and also to my daughter’s baby sprinkle yesterday. The dress has a top overlay and a flattering, caged cutout back, and it’s currently 40% off. It also comes in a solid, light coral color here.
I loosely knotted the back overlay for a slightly more fitted look, but I would also wear it untied for a more flowy look. It runs large…I’m wearing an XS.
Please forgive me for the poser shot below! I couldn’t resist when I saw the Rolls Royce parked in front of the Resort at Pelican Hill! 😂 Just having a little fun…a girl can dream, right!?
Dress #2
This fitted, body-con Leith dress from Nordstrom is ultra flattering with a ruched side and tulip hem and is available in regular and plus sizes. It fits TTS, and I’m wearing a medium.
This style comes back year after year, and right now the white one is on sale for just $33. It comes in several other colors, shown here. I also own it in plum and neutral.
I wore this casual dress the day we explored Balboa Island. It’s a comfortable alternative to shorts, and this watercolor scarf is the perfect accessory.
Accessories
I wore this natural pearl pendant necklace with both dresses. It’s such a beautiful, classic piece. It comes with a gold or silver delicate chain, which is adjustable up to 29″ simply by sliding the closure. Way easier than fiddling around with hooks! My earrings are sold out, but here are the matching natural pearl earrings that go with the necklace.
I tend to wear nude-colored shoes most of the time because they fit my personal style, but you could easily pair either dress with white or colored shoes if that’s your style. My espadrille wedges are sold out, but I’ve linked similar ones, also on clearance, and the Tory Burch Miller sandals are available here in more than a dozen colors.
I hope you found a little late-summer inspiration today, and thanks so much for reading!

Love love the white dress – ruching is a girl’s best friend! And such a classy but casual look, paired with the jean jacket.
Thanks so much, Tina! Agree about the ruching 😉

I love both dresses on you! The back is adorable and I love the pink color. The white dress looks so versatile and you could layer it as well. Looks great on your figure and love the touch of color with the scarf.
